National Breast Cancer Foundation

BECOME A PART OF OUR VISION OF A FUTURE WITHOUT BREAST CANCER

When the National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1994, 30% of women diagnosed with breast cancer passed away from the disease. Thanks to research, this percentage has halved. However, the work is far from over. On average, seven women die from breast cancer every day in Australia.
We are striving towards our vision of zero deaths from breast cancer. We believe research is the most effective way for us to achieve this aspirational goal.
NBCF-funded research is helping to better understand the molecular origins of breast cancer, in order to develop tests, treatments and interventions to improve outcomes for people with the disease. While some research will produce more immediate results, most research will generate results well into the future. It can take up to 17 years for laboratory discoveries to be turned into interventions to be used in the real world.
This long-term vision highlights why a gift in your Will is such a unique opportunity to make a difference beyond your lifetime.
